I am not sure if I should be happy or sad with this news. I was laidoff recently and had applied for I-485 on July 17,2007 i.e. current processing date for TSC. Also with this bulletin I will be current (EB2 2006). I have not found a new job yet and my company has told me that they will be revoking my I-140 after 30 days. My company lawyers are not advising me much citing conflict of interest.
What options do I have? Will sending a new G-28 form at this time raise any issues that I do not have job with original employer as my PD is current and it is quite possible that my case maybe adjudicated. In the meantime if I do not sent new G-28 form I am not sure how much my company attorney will co-operate

Here is the exact wording from NSC. I have deleted all the irrelevant matter
For I-485 Denial:
You are applying on the basis of I-140, Petition for Immigration for Immigration Worker, filed on your behalf. However, record contains no evidence that a visa petition has been approved on your behalf. Since the record does not contain evidence that a visa petition has been approved in your behalf, your application is hereby denied.
For first MTR Denial:
However, it is noted that the Application to Adjust Status was filed on July 2, 2007 and Immigration Petition for Alien Worker was denied on September 4, 2007. Your application was only pending 2 months before the decision was made on the Immigration Petition for Alien Worker. You cannot port once the immigrant petition has been denied. Particularly elimination of LC substitution and elimination of concurrent 140 & 485 are good things to come in the forseeable future.
Also, another Damn thing that INS should do, check the PayStubs and W2 forms for all the people and should check with IRS on that to eliminate the another class of people who are just faking about everything, everything and becoming liable on this GC and creating a freaking mess and becoming example or providing direction to lot many others following their model.
If this stops, yes, our waiting times decrease. I can say one, Our own Indian mentality is causing Quueues in this process

Correct me if I am wrong, ---but I thought that "This Ammendment" was attached to a defence bill. I dont think that it was the ammendment that was shot down, but the whole defence bill.

I think the biggest lesson for you will come in through this thread itself. You may find, after all, its not that easy to motivate people to take action, much less form a coherent strategy and run with it.
My guess is in the end you will come out cursing not just the core but all IV members for them lacking or something, because they can't get on board with your idea.
The only reason IV has been able to achieve something with such a low amount of "per capita" effort is because it's an "apoltical" and "volunteer" organization. You change that to "political", and amount of effort (time and money) people will contribute will fizzle out before you can have your post election party!
My suggestion: Open a parallel organzation. Learn what it takes to get people on board with your agenda. if you DELIVER SOMETHING, people will automatically follow you.
Funds will follow if people see viability. Anywaz nothing is coming out of lobbying efforts so currently how does it even matter ?

The man must have real conviction, courage and belief in himself and this effort to do such a selfless act and I am not even talking about the hours and hours of time, mental energy, physical stress and emotional capital he must have invested into OUR effort and I am not talking about all that because that is immeasurable and there is not much we can do to repay all that back but apart from being for ever indebted there is something we can do.
We can reach for our wallets and repay IV core members who have contributed selflessly to OUR cause.
Every one of us has benefited in some way or the other because of our association to IV and who do we have to thank but the core team who have put so much on the line for OUR cause.
