Senator sessions was the key due to the lame duck session rules but going forward as i understand a majority can pass the bill..not ever one need to vote for the bill.
Money would help core do activities like setting up the web site, faxes, going to DC, educating law makers...nothing comes free in this world.
I am sure core team would like to post the account details on this web site and be done with it. And may be list down the number of hours and money they have spent from their personal accounts too. But there are some issues with that. We can always call them up for details if that is what is holding you from contributing. Its only a phone call away.

Did any of you guys read the USCIS ombudsman report in detail. It talks about FBI namechecks in some detail and specifically mentions that the namechecks are less detailed than what USCIS already does through it's available databases. In fact the FBI checks fewer things than what the USCIS already checks and so the ombudsman believes that the FBI name check is a waste of time and should be done away with.
Nevertheless USCIS still keeps the FBI name check and I believe that is for purely political reasons where they can conveniently pass the buck if something untoward happens.
Therefore harping on the FBI namecheck issue for the weekend processing may not be a good idea.

Guys...all applications are pre-adjudicated irrespective of whether a PD is current according to the receipt date.
Once receipted they go on the shelf and are given for adjudication to an adjudicator as in a fairly FIFO manner.
Let's not confuse this with those who were pre-adjudicated and then placed on the shelf for lack of visa number availability. Most of the petitions approved in June were from this shelf.
As a rule they don't jump and take the "PD current" ones even if they are submitted late.
Again I also read this from a question posed to the "I-485 Production Line Supervisor" in an open house document posted by an organization.

This is what i understand
1.Advanced Degree-(where most of us fall into ) it is either masters or Bachelors+5 years
2.Exceptional Ability- Assume a guy who has a diploma or a 3 year degree with some certifications. In a normal scenerio he would apply for EB3.But this opens up the scope for him to apply in EB2 also provided he satisfies a 10 year experience and any other stuff from the criteria below...
Criteria
Official academic record showing that you have a degree, diploma, certificate, or similar award from a college, university, school, or other institution of learning relating to your area of exceptional ability
Letters documenting at least 10 years of full-time experience in your occupation
A license to practice your profession or certification for your profession or occupation
Evidence that you have commanded a salary or other remuneration for services that demonstrates your exceptional ability
Membership in a professional association(s)
Recognition for your achievements and significant contributions to your industry or field by your peers, government entities, professional or business organizations
Other comparable evidence of eligibility is also acceptable.

There seems to be no trend. Mine is non-RIR from 2001 November, transferred from Federal. I have not heard anything after receving 45-day letter in May 2005. Recent case status from BEC says my application is awaiting further review by a BEC analyst. One day, it might be approved. Incidentally DOL web site says still 17 months remaining for backlog removal.:D We should see light at the end of tunnel after another 1 1/2 years.

People are burying these posts as spam.. can we do something to make sure that doesnt happen?
I guess that tells how much public cares about our GC's. We want to spice up the story by adding other issues that can make our situation worse.
The only way we can get 4000 diggs is by having every info lurker digg it and individual comments.

Hi! I have some questions:
1. Do you have a lawyer when you filed the first MTR or did you do it by yourself?
2. Did you submit a copy of the I-140 approval and the AC21 memo during MTR?
Thanks.

Did any of you get the same letter with the same content below .........what baffles me is the last sentence that says "The application will be reopened and the processing continued. Once the processing is completed, you will receive a notice under separate cover."
Your help is really appreciated in this.........Sorry I am little bit pessimistic here......
I think I have answered my own question...........Here are the links for similar responses from USCIS

Getting HR 5882 / S 3414 (recapture bills) through congress is the only hope for EB3's.
Changing the spillover will not help EBI because in both the spillover interpretations EB3I is the last in the chain. The only reason EB3I benefited from earlier spillover interpretations was because there weren't any ripe EB2-I cases available and it spilled over to EB3I. Reverting to the old spillover interpretation will not benefit EBI but sure it will benefit EB3-ROW.
Let us focus on getting the recapture bills through. Call u'r congressman/senator and start pushing for the recapture bill. EB3I has been benefited until now because of the AC21 recapture. Now it is time for another recapture.

Guys.. Peace! cut-it now.. this is totally absurd and childish to spend your energies in the type of back-and-forth discussions you're engaging yourselves in. What NYCGal369 started was an intellectual discussion, but now let's stop this downward spiral.
Thanks!
Thanks!

My H1 extension is under process. I had applied in Dec 2006. My DL expires on May 6. Is it possible to renew my license with the H1 extension receipt?. Is it possible to do Premium Processing now?
Not sure about NJ, but in NY they want to see your i94 that is attached to your approval notice if you dont have a valid stamp.
You do have time for premium processing but also find out locally if you can go back with an expired DL (expired within a month or so) , in most DMV I think they permit extension of expired DL. I am not sure about it, but You may want to verify.

No, he wasn't too specific.
Most of the answers were like We did some mistakes, we are taking new measures, new database , liking state Deptt to USCIS, making progress.
Lets see when that will show results.

You morons, You have spent so much time in useless discussions and anti-immigrants are laughing at your foolishness. Its high time your greencards applications get a denial or RFE. You will come crying to IV to save your status. Or else you will be deported. That is all you can do. You guys have got sub labor or faked your resumes and now you want someone to be accountable to you. First learn to be accountable to yourself and your values.
Here is what antis are telling you aholes:
STFU you freeloaders
just frustered bcoz you are still stuck in Labor while mostly everybody filed their GC right...... I can understand...... but you should channel your frustration in good way.... may be try seeing a shrink...... I will pitch in $1 if you get shrink help......
