We filed for our 2nd AP on July 2nd. They received it on 8th and mine was approved on 22nd. Got my AP yesterday. No idea what happened to my spouse's. I got that RN from the back of the check and called USCIS. I entered the 10 digit RN and it said not enough numbers entered?? So i called again and said no RN and i got a cust service rep. I gave her the RN and she said they received it on 8th and is still processing it. She said it doesn't matter whether we filed together and asked us to wait 6 months.
Is this normal? I just hope the other AP is not lost.
Also since there is no expiry date on the AP, is it to be taken as its valid only for 1 year from the date of issue? We never had to use our 1st AP.

My friend John Lamb in Nashville has had this idea for a while. Hi I'm a Moroccan citizen I was placed in removal proceedings (NY Buffalo) and took voluntary departure. once my wife's divorce was finalized we got married while on voluntary departure. we filed motion to reopen the case and it was reopened and transferred to Los Angeles, CA then the judge closed my case based on marriage with an I130 receipt without prejudice. The I130 was filed on june 2009 and was transferred to Los Angeles on November 12, 2009. I made an appointment with Info Pass but they just said you have to wait untill we call you. My lawyer said I can't file for the I485 untill the I130 is approved. My question is: How long will it take before we will be called for an interview?
An estimation will be much appreciated thank you very much.

You can enter all the data, save it and book your date as and when it becomes available. I did it recently for Chennai. But, if you do not book the date within one week of saving your forms, you have to enter the data once again. For Chennai, they normally open the dates 3-4 weeks in advance.

I am Aug 07 filer , I was not able to submit my medicals with my I-485 application .
I got my medicals done with civil surgeon in sept 2007 and was waiting for RFE to submit the sealed cover . I never got a RFE but I got a interview at local office next month .
So can I submit the sealed cover that the civil surgeon filled in 2007 or do I need to get all the tests done again now and fill a new form .

I love the G4, but I know it does have some problems with 3D rendering in some situations. I'm not sure why that would be happening.

Hi, my BIL was on H1, and lost his job, then he moved on to EAD, which he hadnt because my sister was on h4, then my sister got a job and went to home country to get it stamped as advised by their lawyer. Now her visa got rejected, maybe bec the company she got the job in is not very big. Anyway now for her to come back, my BIL has been advised to go back on H1.
My questions are:
1) How safe is it to go from EAD to H1
2) Is it true that if you are on EAD and then if you try to go back to H1 the chances of it getting rejected are high? And if your H1 gets rejected then there are chances that your EAD will also get rejected?
3) How long does it take to move from EAD to H1
Any insights/suggestions/advises on the above would be greatly appreciated.

I am doing my second masters from a university with a valid i20. I have a CPT till the end of Aug 2008. I have a approval notice for H1B with start date of OCT 1 2008.
I am planning to discontinue the course from Fall (Starts sep 1st) 2008. Because there is only one month gap between Fall Semester and H1b start, is it possible i stay in the US without taking any courses at the university. i do not mind not working if i have an option to stay back in US till oct 1st.
i am trying to avoid a hefty fee for the whole semester, i need to fill the gap from SEP 1st 2008 to OCT 1st 2008

My girlfriend (from Russia) and I have been for about 3 years and living together for the last year and I've recently decided I want to propose this summer. She is currently here as an I-9 form (she's in grad school), but her student visa is expired. She recently got a job on campus and while she was going through the paperwork yesterday realized that her passport is going to expire next April (2012). So she is now planning to go back to Russia at the end of the year to renew her passport and apply for a new student visa. As I think we'd both like a longer engagement, and with a fiance visa you need to marry within 90 days of entering the country, we probably wouldn't want to apply for one at that time. However, I'm now wondering if being engaged will cause any complications for her when applying for her student visa. Any information or advise you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My company changed address while my transfer H1b petition was pending. We moved just across the street from the original location and thus the company did not call USCIS to notify them of the address change because we still had access to our old mail box. Unfortuanately my approval notice was returned back as undeliverable and I received an email to that regard.
The secretary from office called USCIS and had the address changed immediately, its already been a month but we still haven't received the approval notice at the new address...has any one else here has similar experience...how long do you think we should wait before we call the USCIS again ?
